According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot rolled sheet totaled 85,939 mt in March this year, up 70.4 percent from February and down 28.6 percent from March 2025. By value, HRC imports totaled $51.3 million in March this year, compared to $35.8 million in February and $86.5 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most HRC from Japan in March with 25,464 mt, compared to 1,776 mt in February and 10,073 mt in March last year. Other top sources of imported HRC in March include Brazil with 16,367 mt, Turkey with 11,662 mt, Canada with 9,368 mt, South Korea with 9,109 mt, Mexico with 7,058 mt, and the Netherlands with 2,632 mt.
