According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot rolled sheet totaled 50,422 mt in February this year, down 15.8 percent from January and down 62.9 percent from February 2025. By value, HRC imports totaled $35.8 million in February this year, compared to $38.9 million in January and $101.6 million in the same month last year.
The US imported the most HRC from South Korea in February with 27,743 mt, compared to 24,878 mt in January and 42,861 mt in February last year. Other top sources of imported HRC in February include Canada with 9,455 mt, Mexico with 5,280 mt, Germany with 3,578 mt, Japan with 1,776 mt, Sweden with 1,414 mt, and the Netherlands with 1,109 mt.
