US HRC exports down 24.6 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheet totaled 55,237 mt in April 2023, down 24.6 percent from March and down 4.8 percent from April 2022. By value, HRC exports totaled $55.3 million in April, compared to $68.9 million in the previous month and $54.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in April with 36,810 mt, compared to 54,511 mt in March and 34,401 mt in April 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 17,411 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in April.
