US HRC exports down 13.7 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheets totaled 49,967 mt in July 2018, down 13.7 percent from June and down 24.5 percent from July 2017 levels. By value, HRC exports totaled $46.7 million in July, compared to $52.4 million in the previous month and $47.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in July with 31,166 mt, compared to 33,487 mt in June and 45,186 mt in July 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 18,041 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in July.
