US HDG exports up 5.3 percent in November

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 107,893 mt in November, up 5.3 percent from October and up 20.1 percent from November 2016 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $110.4 million in November, compared to $104.3 million in the previous month and $89.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in November with 62,369 mt, compared to 55,789 mt in October and 49,873 mt in November 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 42,243 mt; Japan, with 1,141 mt; and Italy, with 1,090 mt.
