According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 109,315 mt in February 2023, up 2.7 percent from January and up 9.4 percent from February 2022. By value, HDG exports totaled $144.2 million in February, compared to $147.6 million in the previous month and $139.7 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in February with 62,039 mt, compared to 62,249 mt in January and 46,938 mt in February 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 45,958 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in February.
