US HDG exports rise 6 percent in March

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 113,543 mt in March, up 6.0 percent from February and up 6.5 percent from March 2016 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $115.9 million in March, compared to $109.9 million in the previous month and $100.4 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in March, with 61,685 mt, compared to 58,672 mt in February and 64,128 mt in March 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 50,552 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US HDG exports in March.
