US HDG exports fall 3.2 percent in September

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 104,305 mt in September, down 3.2 percent from August and up 0.7 percent from September 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $103.7 million, down 2.9 percent month-on-month and up 3.6 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in September, with 55,789 mt, compared to 60,889 mt in August and 52,179 mt in September 2015. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 46,111 mt; there were no other notable destinations with tonnage levels surpassing 1,000 mt.
