US domestic crude steel output down 0.3%-Feb 12, 2005

US steel mills produced 2.065 million net tons of crude steel in the week ending February 12, 2005, representing a capacity utilization rate of 90.9%. In the same period of 2004, crude steel production totaled 2.071 million net tons at a capacity utilization rate of 87.6%. Crude steel production in the week ending February 12, 2005, indicated a 0.3% decline compared to the same period last year. Production for the week ending February 12, 2005, rose 0.4% from the previous week, when production was 2.057 million net tons.
