US DOC amends final results of AD review on rebar from Turkey
The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has released today a notice of amended final results of an antidumping duty administrative review on certain steel concrete reinforcing bars imported from Turkey. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the DOC, on November 7, 2006, published the final results of the review in question which covers the period of April 1, 2004 through March 31, 2005. (Please click here to see the final results) On November 13, 2006, the DOC received allegations from Colakoglu Metalurji, A.S. (Colakoglu) and Ekinciler Demir ve Celik Sanayi A.S./Ekinciler Dis Ticaret A.S. (Ekinciler), that the Department made ministerial errors in its final results. After analyzing the submissions on this topic, filed by Ekinciler, Colakoglu, and the petitioners, the DOC has determined that it made a ministerial error in its calculations performed for the final results for only one of the two respondents (i.e., Ekinciler). Accordingly, the DOC has determined to amend the final results with respect to Ekinciler. As a result of correcting the ministerial error, Ekinciler's weighted-average dumping margin decreased from 8.59 to 3.16 percent. For the remaining respondents, the weighted-average dumping margins remain the same.
