US CRC imports up 22.0 percent in March

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheet totaled 91,857 mt in March 2023, up 22.0 percent from February but down 41.5 percent from March 2022 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $95.2 million in March 2023, compared to $77.9 million in February and $224.1 million in March 2022.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in March, with 38,386 mt, compared to 35,822 mt in February and 54,961 mt in March 2022. Other top sources of imported CRC in March include Australia, with 22,553 mt; Mexico, with 16,989 mt; Sweden, with 3,524 mt; and South Korea, with 2,399 mt.
