US CRC imports up 14.1 percent in July

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheet totaled 115,389 mt in July 2023, up 14.1 percent from June but down 2.2 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $135.3 million in July 2023, compared to $122.3 million in June and $177.8 million in July 2022.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in July, with 39,083 mt, compared to 48,443 mt in June and 41,071 mt in July 2022. Other top sources of imported CRC in July include Australia, with 12,561 mt; Mexico, with 8,209 mt; United Kingdom, with 7,628 mt; and Netherlands, with 7,610 mt.
