US CRC imports rise 11.9 percent in October

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 189,433 mt in October, up 11.9 percent from September and up 35.8 percent from October 2015 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $134.9 million in October 2016, compared to $119.7 million in the previous month and $96.2 million in the same month last year.
 
The US imported the most CRC from Vietnam in October, with 35,912 mt, compared to 16,536 mt in September and 2,640 mt in October 2015. Other top sources of imported CRC in October include Canada, with 26,620 mt; Turkey, with 21,446 mt; Mexico, with 18,923 mt; and Australia, with 18,817 mt.
