US CRC imports down 5.3 percent in November

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheets totaled 92,664 mt in November 2019, down 5.3 percent from October and down 29.9 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $76.0 million in November 2019, compared to $80.2 million in the previous month and $114.9 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in November, with 39,609 mt, compared to 43,591 mt in October and 24,387 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported CRC in November include Mexico, with 17,392 mt; Korea, with 10,626 mt; Vietnam, with 7,326 mt; and Netherlands, with 5,560 mt.
