US CRC exports up 19.6 percent in January

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheet totaled 43,252 mt in January 2023, up 19.6 percent from December but down 14.9 percent from January 2022. By value, CRC exports totaled $56.6 million in January, compared to $49.5 million in the previous month and $64.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in January with 28,971 mt, compared to 23,617 mt in December and 32,339 mt in January 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 13,263 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in January.
