According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 46,057 mt in May 2018, up 0.7 percent from April but down 41.2 percent from May 2017 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $50.8 million in May, compared to $50.9 million in the previous month and $86.3 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in May with 28,863 mt, compared to 27,420 mt in April and 27,060 mt in May 2017. Other top destinations included Canada, with 15,792 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in May.
