US cold finished bar exports up 4.9 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 6,844 mt in October 2019, up 4.9 percent from September but down 21.9 percent from October 2018 levels. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $20.7 million in October, compared to $15.3 million in the previous month and $20.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Mexico in October with 3,217 mt, compared to 3,047 mt in September and 3,907 mt in October 2018. Other destinations include Canada, with 2,628 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cold finished bar exports in October.
