US cold finished bar exports down 9.7 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold finished bar totaled 11,868 mt in April 2023, down 9.7 percent from March and down 18.1 percent from April 2022. By value, cold finished bar exports totaled $26.9 million in April, compared to $30.2 million in the previous month and $28.4 million the same month last year.v

The US shipped the most cold finished bar to Canada in April with 6,191 mt, compared to 7,325 mt in March and 8,411 mt in April 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 4,584 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cold finished bar exports in April.
