US CIT ruled on dumping margin for Colakoglu Rebars

The US Court of International Trade (CIT) on Friday issued its final decision on an appeal that Colakoglu in Turkey had filed against the outcome of an administrative review the US Department of Commerce had conducted concerning the antidumping margin of Colakoglu's rebars. The period of review was April 1, 2002 - March 31, 2003. The Department of Commerce had originally arrived at a final margin of 9.25 percent, later amending it to 4.91 percent. Colakoglu did not agree with the amended margin either and went to the CIT seeking to nullify this dumping rate. On March 24, 2006, the US Court of International Trade upheld the amended final dumping margin of 4.91 percent for the time period under investigation. Unless there is an appeal by Colakoglu against the CIT decision, the antidumping margin for the period of investigation will come into effect. In subsequent administrative reviews, Colakoglu's dumping margin was reduced to 0.00 percent. This ruling will not be affected by the recent decision of the US Court of International Trade.
