US and Canadian rig report for September 8

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending Sept. 8, 2023, the US rotary rig count increased by one rig to 632.

The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 113, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by one to 513. The overall US rig count is down by 127 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by five to 182 rigs in the week ending Sept. 8. The Canadian rig count is down by 23 rigs compared to the same reporting period last year.
