UNESID: Spanish steel output down 23.8 percent in Dec from Nov

According to the Spanish steelmakers association UNESID, in December last year Spain’s steel production totaled 660,000 mt, down by 23.8 percent month on month and by 24.0 percent year on year. In 2022, the country’s steel production totaled 11.51 million mt.

In the given month, the Spanish steel industry recycled 530,000 mt of scrap to be used for new steel products, falling by 29.8 percent compared to November and by 12.0 percent year on year. In the full year, the industry recycled 8.91 million mt of scrap.
