Accordingly, Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) increased its finished steel products output by 1.7 percent, its pig iron production by 0.3 percent, pipe production by 13.9 percent and agglomerate production by 9.4 percent year on year in the first seven months of 2007. The respective figures in metric tons were 3.13 million, 3.14 million, 69,700 and 7.18 million. However, Ilyich saw a one percent decrease in its crude steel production to 4.02 million metric.
During the period in question, Azovstal registered a 9.4 percent increase in its finished steel products output, a 10.4 percent rise in crude steel production, a 15.9 percent increase in pig iron production, but a 1.5 percent drop in its agglomerate production year on year. The respective figures in metric tons stood at 3.19 million, 3.61 million, 3.12 million and 1.12 million.
In the January-July 2007 period, Enakievsk Metallurgical Plant (EMZ) produced 1.53 million metric tons of finished steel products - up 5.2 percent, 1.53 million metric tons of crude steel - up 2.3 percent, and 1.305 metric tons of pig iron - up 1.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2006.
In the first seven months of 2007, Istil produced 552,000 metric tons of finished steel products - up 26.3 percent, and 592,000 metric tons of crude steel - up 23.3 percent, compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
In January-July 2007, Alchevks Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) increased its finished steel production by 3.8 percent to 2.01 million metric tons, its pig iron production by one percent to 1.82 but decreased its agglomerate production by 5.7 percent to 2.869 million metric tons, all compared to the corresponding period of 2006. In addition, during the given period Alchevsk was able to sustain its crude steel production at previous level of 2.24 million metric tons.
During the given period, Mittal Steel Kriviy Rih registered a 5.2 percent increase in its finished steel production, a 9.4 percent increase in its crude steel production, a seven percent rise in its pig iron production and a 4.9 percent increase in its agglomerate production year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 4.2 million, 4.75 million, 4.2 million and 6.98 million.
In the first seven months of 2007, Makeevsk Metallurgical Plant (Makeevsk) produced 611,000 metric tons of finished steel products - up 27.7 percent, 1.044 million metric tons of crude steel- up 20.5 percent and 1.13 million metric tons of pig iron - up 44.5 percent all compared to the corresponding period of 2006.
Finally, in the January-July 2007 period Zaporizhstal raised its finished steel products output by 2.7 percent, crude steel production by 2.4 percent, pig iron production by 3.1 percent and its agglomerate production by 3.5 percent year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.2 million, 2.63 million, 2.125 million and 3.323 million.
