Ukrainian crude steel output expected to decline in January

According to Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in January next year Ukraine's crude steel production will decline to 2.82 million mt.

According to Metallurgprom's forecast, pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.370 million mt in January, while production of rolled steel in the month is expected to be 2.510 million mt.

In the first 11 months of the current, year Ukraine registered four percent growth in its finished steel product output to 29.130 million mt, a seven percent increase in its crude steel output to 31.928 million mt, and a six percent rise in its pig iron production to 26.504 million mt, all compared to the same period of the previous year.

In November alone, Ukraine produced 2.631 million mt of finished steel products - down 2.4 percent, 2.876 million mt of crude steel - down 4.5 percent, and 2.421 million mt of pig iron - down 5.5 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
