The Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA) has announced that, due to the weakening global economic situation and its impact on demand from steel and stainless steel customers in both the domestic and overseas markets, Ukraine's ferroalloy industry is to completely suspend operations.

So far, four Ukrainian ferroalloy producers, namely Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFP), Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant (ZFP), Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant (SFP) and Pobuzhskiy Ferronickel Plant (PFP), have announced decisions to shut down production effective as of November 1.
