Ukraine reports decrease in ferroalloy production

According to statistical data, Ukraine's production of ferroalloys decreased 17.4 percent, or 23,120 tons, month on month to 109,770 tons in April of 2006. During the given period, the production of silico-manganese decreased 19 percent to 75,420 tons and that of ferromanganese decreased 5.6 percent to 26,750 tons, while the production of ferrosilicon rose 22.6 percent to 7,600 tons. Among Ukrainian producers of ferroalloys, Nikopolsk Ferroalloys Plant (25 percent), Zaporozj Ferroalloys Plant (2 percent), and Stahanovskiy Ferroalloy Plant (15.6 percent) reported decreases in their production in April 2006.
