Ukraine cancels VAT on scrap transactions until 2014

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has signed into law the country's modified new tax code, published on December 4, 2010, according to which transactions for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap will be exempted from value added tax (VAT) until January 1, 2014.

Ukraine's new tax code will come into force on January 1, 2011.
