UAE-based Hamriyah Steel obtains UK CARES certification

UAE-based steel rebar producer Hamriyah Steel, a 80:20 joint venture of Russian steel and iron ore producer Metalloinvest and Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has announced that it has successfully passed the certification of UK Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels (CARES) for compliance to the requirements of the BS EN ISO 9001 2008 quality management system standard.

In addition, CARES has also certified Hamriyah Steel's products for compliance with BS 4449 1997 Grade 460 standard, which guarantees the buyer that it will receive high quality steel products produced in accordance with European norms and requirements.

Hamriyah Steel, commissioned in late January this year, is specialized in the production of steel rebar of 10-40 mm diameter and has an annual production capacity of one million mt.
