UAE extends ban on scrap exports until September 21

The Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the extension of the country’s ban on exports of ferrous scrap and paper waste.

According to the announcement, the ban on exports of products under HS codes 72041000, 72042100, 72042900, 72043000, 72044100, 72044900 and 72045000 has been extended until September 21. Initially, the ban was implemented on May 15, 2020, and was subsequently extended in order to support local steelmakers, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
