Turkish PPGI imports down 66.6 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 9.2 percent month on month to 3,117 mt, down by 34.2 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports increased by 27 percent month on month to $3.60 million, up 7.2 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 66.6 percent to 27,022 while the revenue from these imports amounted to $29.3 million, down 48.5 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Belgium ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 5,916 metric tons, up 10.4 percent year on year. Belgium was followed by Italy and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 5,732 metric tons and 4,574 metric tons respectively.
