According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first four months of this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 41,105 mt, decreasing by 46.76 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $42.58 million, down 47.69 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
In April this year, Turkey's PPGI exports decreased by 27.43 percent year on year to 14,899 metric tons, but were up 9.61 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $14.70 million, down 33.04 percent year on year and increasing by 6.20 percent month on month.
With imports of 5,012 mt of PPGI from Turkey in April and 8,483 mt in the first four months of the year, Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destinations, ahead of Azerbaijan. In the January-April period, Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreased by 28.97 percent to 5,576 mt, while Romania received 4,610 mt of PPGI from Turkey, down 24.75 percent year on year.
