Turkish PPGI exports down in January-November

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the January-November period of 2014 Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 159,375 mt, decreasing by 16.77 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $160.85 million, down 21 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
 
In November 2014, Turkey's PPGI exports increased by 25.6 percent year on year and were down 5.9 percent compared to October, amounting to 9,945 metric tons. The revenue from these exports amounted to $10 million, down 10.7 percent month on month and rising by 9.8 percent year on year.
 
Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the given periods, with imports of 820 mt of PPGI from Turkey in November, up 284.98 percent year on year, and imports of 57,419 mt of PPGI in the first 11 months of 2014, down 29.21 percent year on year. In the first 11 months, Russia was followed by Azerbaijan and Romania, with Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreasing by 1.78 percent year on year to 17,680 mt, while Romania received 11,518 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period, down 13.36 percent year on year.
