According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the January-July period of this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 101,712 mt, decreasing by 29.55 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $101.24 million, down 33.93 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
In July this year, Turkey's PPGI exports decreased by 27.82 percent compared to June, amounting to 18,455 metric tons. The revenue from these exports amounted to $18.35 million, down 28.54 percent month on month.
With imports of 7,294 mt of PPGI from Turkey in June, down 58.46 month on month, and imports of 40,290 mt of PPGI in the first seven months of this year, down 40.95 percent year on year, Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the given periods, ahead of Azerbaijan and Romania. In the first seven months, Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreased by 26.84 percent to 9,578 mt, while Romania received 8,164 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period, down 18.44 percent year on year.
