According to the Turkish
Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in the first four months of the current year motor vehicle sales in
Turkey totaled 209,845 units, falling by 23.8 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In April alone,
Turkey's motor vehicle sales fell 19.6 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling 65,954 units.
In the first four months of this year,
Turkey's passenger car sales amounted to 143,181 units, falling by 19 percent year on year.
In the given period,
Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 267,154 units, falling by six percent year on year, while its passenger car exports amounted to 148,270 units, falling by nine percent compared to the same period last year. The revenue for these export sales reached $6.07 billion for total motor vehicle and component exports, falling three percent, while the revenue of passenger car exports totaled $2.17 billion, falling by eight percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
In the first four months of 2012,
Turkey's passenger car imports fell by 23 percent year on year, totaling 127,207 units.
