Turkish metal producers’ selling prices up 8.8 percent in Jan over Dec

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 2.36 percent over December last year and was up 10.8 percent year on year, while an average rise of 8.89 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In September, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry rose by 8.8 percent month on month and was up 32.37 percent compared to January 2010. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 20.48 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, increased by 1.63 percent over the previous month and was up 3.45 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 0.17 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
