SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Turkish wire rod export offers have remained unchanged since last week at $575-580/mt FOB.
Market sources state that, with the approach of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday, sales from Turkey to the Middle East have slowed down significantly, with most sales being concluded to Europe. Besides, China, which last week once again reduced its wire rod offers for foreign markets, remains an important threat to Turkish wire rod exports. Market players also say that scrap purchases are expected to become livelier after the Feast of Sacrifice holiday and this could also be reflected in scrap prices, which could in turn prevent gradual decreases in Turkish wire rod export offers or even result in some slight price increases ahead of the winter season.
