Turkish metal producers’ sales prices down 1.77% in Oct from Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 1.6 percent over September and was up 12.58 percent year on year, while an average rise of 10.26 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In October, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 1.77 percent month on month and was up 38.73 percent compared to September 2010. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 28.71 percent. In October, the highest month-on-month increase in the PPI for industrial activity in Turkey was 4.33 percent in the index for the metal ore industry.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, increased by 1.7 percent over the previous month and was up 14.9 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 6.47 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
