According to a report by Turkish daily Dünya, Turkish metal manufacturers are trying to benefit from the trade war between the US and China.

Speaking at a press meeting Tahsin Öztiryaki, president of the Istanbul Iron and Non-ferrous Metals Association, stated that Turkey’s metal exports to the US amount to $286 million, while China’s exports are valued at $40 billion. Turkish exporters are planning to double the value of these exports soon, he indicated.

Mr. Öztiryaki also said that, besides the US, African countries are emerging as suitable export markets with their increasing demand for high quality products as a result of economic development.
