In November last year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 62.6 percent year on year to 142,513 metric tons, down 38.2 percent compared to October, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $87.72 million, falling by 38.9 percent month on month and down 58.3 percent year on year.
In the first 11 months of last year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.24 million mt, down 16.5 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 0.7 percent to $1.97 billion, both year on year.
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,431,004 mt, down 25.54 percent year on year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 449,150 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
