In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports increased by 23.6 percent to 179,628 metric tons compared to March and were down 39.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $90.16 million, up 25.5 percent month on month, while declining by 40.7 percent compared to the same month of 2019.
In January-April period of this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 803,611 mt, down 36.6 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 43.7 percent to $376.71 million, both compared to same period of 2019.
In the first four months of this year, Italy ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 323,249 mt, down 33.28 percent, followed by Egypt which received 173,982 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
