Turkey’s rebar exports down eight percent in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in January this year Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 761,383 metric tons, increasing by 52.6 percent year on year but down 7.9 percent from the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $495 million, rising by 54.5 percent compared to January 2011 and down eight percent from the previous month.

In January this year, Turkey's rebar exports to the UAE, the largest rebar export destination of Turkey, decreased by 16 percent compared to the same month last year, while rebar exports to Singapore increased significantly in January 2012 compared to the very low export level recorded in the same month last year.
