Turkey’s wire rod exports up 23.9 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 84.7 percent year on year to 129,635 metric tons, down 43.4 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $66.89 million, down 43.6 percent month on month and increasing by 60.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 992,442 metric tons, up 23.9 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $505.5 million, increasing by seven percent compared to same period of 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 198,034 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 103,212 metric tons and Haiti with 64,557 metric tons.
