According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 45 percent year on year to 49,924 metric tons, down three percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $29.94 million, down 44.7 percent year on year and increasing by 1.8 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $599.74/mt, decreasing by $7.06/mt month on month and up from the average of $590.03/mt recorded in the same month of 2013.

Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year Turkey's wire rod exports remained essentially unchanged, amounting to 786,989 metric tons, while the value of these exports totaled $469.15 million, down 1.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis.

In the first 10 months of this year, the US ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations by importing 194,527 mt, increasing by nearly fivefold (up 386.7 percent) year on year, as antidumping investigations in the US caused China to retreat from the market and so Turkey regained its position in its most important wire rod export destination. In the given period, Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel increased by 49.06 percent year on year to 142,192 mt. Israel was followed by Libya, which imported 62,751 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey in the given period, down 40 percent year on year.
