Turkey’s wire rod exports down 1.1 percent in 2019

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 58.1 percent year on year to 104,121 metric tons, down 13.4 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $46.4 million, down 15.6 percent month on month and decreasing by 64.8 percent compared to the same month of 2018.

Meanwhile, in 2019, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 1.82 million metric tons, down 1.1 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $905.4 million, decreasing by 13.7 percent compared to 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 406,286 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 153,648 metric tons and Singapore with 114,643 metric tons.
