Turkey’s steel export volume down 6.8 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 2.6 percent year on year to 1.41 million mt, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). In the given month, Turkey's steel pipe exports totaled 158,000 mt, up 9.3 percent year on year, while billet exports increased by 573.1 percent to 39,000 mt. In October this year, Turkey's long steel exports decreased by 14.6 percent to 767,000 mt, while its flat steel exports rose by 18.4 percent to 271,000 mt, both on year-on-year basis. 
 
In the first ten months, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 6.8 percent year on year to 13.99 million mt. In the given period, Turkey's billet exports declined by 42.9 percent to 289,000 mt, long steel exports fell by eight percent to 8.5 million mt, and flat steel exports rose by 2.1 percent to 2.08 million mt, all year-on-year basis. Turkey did not export any slab in the given period.
