According to the data provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in August this year Turkey's total steel bar exports, including rebar, amounted to 501,750 metric tons, decreasing by 8.16 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $274.38 million, improving by 9.45 percent compared to August 2009.
In August, the average export price of Turkish steel bar amounted to $547/mt, increasing by $88/mt or 19.18 percent from August 2009 levels.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of 2010, Turkey's steel bar exports declined by 36.81 percent, reaching 4.23 million metric tons, while the revenue for these exports stood at $2.36 billion, decreasing by 21.74 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
