Turkey’s rebar exports up 3.42 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 507,609 metric tons, down 5.3 percent compared to August and increasing by 103 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $286.4 million, rising by 132.4 percent compared to September 2017 and down 3.1 percent month on month.

In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 4.17 million mt, up 3.42 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 31.8 percent to $2.3 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 643,136 metric tons, up 43.52 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 489,013 metric tons and the US with 303,908 metric tons.
