Turkey’s rebar exports down 5.7 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 502,914 metric tons, down 15.8 percent compared to September and falling by 21.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $178.8 million, decreasing by 50 percent compared to October 2014 and down 23.4 percent month on month.


 
In the January-October period, Turkey's rebar exports decreased by 5.7 percent year on year to 5.91 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $2.57 billion, down 27.18 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2014.

In the January-October period of the current year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 1,149,188 metric tons, up 7.57 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 1,131,244 metric tons, up 74.11 percent, and Iraq with 563,462 metric tons, down 12.88 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
