Turkey’s rebar exports down 10 percent in January-July

In July this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 437,719 metric tons, up 21.8 percent compared to June and increasing by 43.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $246.18 million, increasing by 81.9 percent compared to July 2017 and up 23.2 percent month on month.

In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 3.10 million mt, down 10 percent, while the value of these exports increased by 17.5 percent to $1.72 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was Yemen which received 466,302 metric tons, up 13.16 percent year on year. Yemen was followed by Israel with 383,013 metric tons and the US with 263,571 metric tons.
