Turkey’s motor vehicle output up 29 percent in November

According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in November this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 78,156 units, increasing by 29 percent year on year and down by six percent over the month of October.

In November, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 41,635 units - up 31,41 percent, its commercial vehicle production reached 35,059 units - up 27.9 percent, while tractor production amounted to 1,462 units - down 13.4 percent, all compared to November last year

In the first eleven months of 2009, the country's motor vehicle output totaled 789,072 units, decreasing by 30 percent year on year.

In the January-November period of the current year, Turkey's total passenger car output declined by 23 percent to 462,014 units, its commercial vehicle production slid by 38 percent to 313,820, while the tractor output of Turkish producers decreased by 44.7 percent to 13,238 units, all compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in November was 60 percent, while the rate was 55 percent in the first eleven months of the year.
