According to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD), in July this year Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 97,184 units, decreasing by nine percent year on year.
In July, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 40,371 units - down 30 percent, its commercial vehicle production amounted to 52,455 units - up three percent, while tractor production amounted to 4,358 units - up one percent, all compared to July 2011.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in July was 71 percent, down from 73 percent recorded in June this year. In the first seven months of the year, the production capacity utilization rate was 72 percent.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 688,446 units, down nine percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 323,796 units decreasing by 18 percent year on year, while commercial vehicle production stood at 333,749 units, down one percent compared to the corresponding half of 2011.
